About the owner
Welcome to Wabi Sabi Yogi Journey, owned and operated by Jaylene Baterna (they/them). Jaylene has been practicing yoga since 2018 and has been teaching since 2022. They found joy, beauty, and peace in a yoga practice that began online in the comfort of their home and has evolved to teaching across Southeastern Connecticut and Western Rhode Island.
For Jaylene, the focus of yoga is to bring structure, grounding, alignment, and movement to their classes and students. When the world feels broken, our minds can be more steady. Our bodies can propel us forward.
Mixing modalities while still honoring the ancient lineage of yoga, Jaylene aims to bring yoga to all body types, sizes, and "skill levels" the way yoga has long been promised to do. If you can breathe, you can practice yoga.
Wabi Sabi Yogi Journey is about the things that make us who we are. The scars, the breaks, the things that people tell us to hide - these are the things that make us beautiful, unique, venust, lovesome.
Trained in multiple yoga, healing, and spiritual modalities - join Jaylene on a journey to turn your movement and mindfulness into a playdate with yourself, exactly as you're ready to show up today.

Mission Statement:
Wabi Sabi Yogi aims to teach love and acceptance for the individual; in the body, the mind, and all aspects of the whole being. Exactly as you are in this moment and each moment after. Day after day. The hope is that individuals can remember that, every day, the body changes and shifts into something different - whether we are metamorphosizing into something new, or returning to a form of our past.
